It started with Nigel
Nigel is a Syrian hamster with an unreasonable amount of confidence and a habit of launching himself off the sofa arm. The first suit was a scrap of kite fabric and two shoelaces, sewn at a kitchen table at midnight.
Forty-one prototypes later, the pattern holds its shape, the harness sits off the neck, and the whole thing folds into something the size of a matchbox. We make them in a small Nottingham workshop, in batches, by hand.
To be very clear: this is a costume. Nigel does not fly. Nigel sits magnificently and is photographed.
